Encouraging, promoting, developing and administering WKF sport karate in Buffalo City Metro
About
Buffalo City Metro Karate Association (BCMKA) is a voluntary association established as a public benefit organisation (PBO) and registered as a non-profit organisation (NPO) with the South African Department of Social Development.
Our objectives include encouraging, developing, promoting and administering WKF sport karate within the boundaries of the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality.
Structure
We recognise and acknowledge Karate South Africa (KSA) as our national federation and the Eastern Cape Karate Association (ECKA) as our provincial federation.
Through our membership of KSA as a regional association we are affiliated to:
- World Karate Federation (WKF), our international federation
- Union of African Karate Federations (UFAK), our continental federation
- South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC)
We are a member of the Buffalo City Metro Sport Council.
Membership
Our membership comprises of dojos/clubs and individuals situated within the Buffalo City Metropolitan area. Individuals acquire their membership through their clubs and may include athletes and officials. Membership is subject to registration and paying of the relevant fees.
